1. How To Play-The Basics

When playing Dungeon Dice Monsters players transform and dimension their dice onto the Field into a built dungeon, and make pathways that lead summoned monsters against your opponent. The goal for the player is to defeat the enemy Die Master to win the match.

-What You Need To Play Online

-You need to know the rules of the game (That's the purpose of the guide ^-^)

-Have the DDMO program which contains the rest of things you'll need to play (Easy to use & download!)

-Knowledge of how to use DDMO (Also what this guide is for =D )

-Special DDM Terms

The following are explanations of the items and special terms that appear in the game.

Dice Box

This is what contains all of the dice a player possesses. The box is what you choose your Dice Pool from.

Dice Pool

Your Dice Pool consists of exactly 15 dice of your choice from your Dice box. The 15 dice that you use in the game make up your chosen Dice Pool. Although there is no limit to the amount of each monster used, it would be wise not to use 15 of the same die. The Dice Pool can be thought of as your "Deck".

Dice

The dice you use to play are cubes that contain items or monsters. Each die has faces inscribed with a variety of Crests. Players use the dice to build a dungeon on the Field. Your dice are basically your "Cards".

Die Faces

There are 6 varieties of die faces in all. Each face of a die has a Crest on it. Depending on which Crests are rolled, players may be able to Summon monsters or save up Crests.

Crests

Crests are the inscribed symbols on die faces. Actions throughout the game, such as attacking and moving, require "payment" of these Crests. After a dice roll the face up Crests are saved into your Crest Pool.

Crest Pool

This is where all rolled Crests are saved for later use. You are able to save all face up Crests you get, except for Summon Crests. (In DDMO, your rolled Crests are automatically saved to your Crest Pool.)

Monsters

The game progresses by summoning monsters, moving these figures, and making them battle with the enemy. Your monsters are also the only things you have to use for defending your Die Master, so use them wisely if you want to win. Monsters are enclosed in your dice and emerge when Dimensioned.

Field

The Field is what DDM is played on. The game takes place on a 19x13 grid of squares. Players build their dungeons on the Field.

Dungeon

Dungeons are the dimensioned pathways built on the Field. Players use the dice they roll to build the paths on the Field. Monsters move on the paths.

Die Master

This figure is what represents the player in the match. The Die Masters stand at opposite ends of the game board (Field). Defeat your opponent by attacking the enemy Die Master 3 times.

-Game Play Basics

This explains the 6 basic steps in the game.

Game flow

A diagram of the six basic steps in the game.

1. Dice Pool Formation

First you must select 15 dice to be used in the game from the dice box. Both players must do this before the start of a match (or tournament). The game can not start until all 15 dice have been selected.

2. Roll the Dice

At the start of each turn, players select 3 dice from the Dice Pool and roll them. Based on which Crests are rolled, monsters may be summoned to the Field, or face up Crests can be saved up.

3. Summon Monster/Item

If or when two or more Summon Crests of the same level are rolled, players can summon the monsters (or items). Choose one monster (or item) from the dice shown and place it on the Field.

4. Dimension

After performing a Summon, the die is "unfolded" into a flat 6-square piece and placed on the Field. Doing this is called a Dimension. The first piece you place on the field must be touching one side of the Die Master area. Any pieces after that must be connected (one square touching another vertically or horizontally) to the player's dungeon in which ever shape he/she chooses.

5. Monster Movement And Battles

Summoned monsters need Crests in order to perform actions on the field. Therefore, one can not act when there are no Crests. When a Crest is rolled in DDMO, it gets automatically saved into your Dice Pool for later use. One Movement Crest is necessary for the monster to move one square. One Attack Crest is needed for a monster to attack an enemy in an adjacent square. Monsters can only attack vertically and horizontally; they cannot attack diagonally. (See 'Crests' and the later 'Monster Movement and Battles’ for more information.)

6. Showdown

After repeating steps 2-5, the player must try to attack the enemy Die Master with their summoned monsters. You must attackthe enemy Die Master three times in order to win the match.
