YVD Manual

Step 1 - Sets and Images - The first thing you need to do after downloading and installing YVD is to download the updated card sets used in yvd.  The link to download it is http://www.scrollrack.com/Sets/YVDCS6.zip

Once you have downloaded that, unzip the file and move that file into your yvd folder and replace the other yvd.set file with the one you just downloaded.  This will ensure that YVD has all the newest cards that were recently released.  If you would like to have card images, go to http://www.scrollrack.com/Images.htm and place the images in the images folder inside the YVD folder.(images are not required, but they add to the realism of the game).

Step 2 - Making your deck - The next step is making the deck itself.  When you open YVD, click the Duel button to go to the deck shop. Search for cards by searching under 'name contains' or 'desc. contains'.  Mostly you will search by the name of the card itself but sometimes when you don't know a card name you will need to search for part of the card's text under desc contains.  If your making a sidedeck and you have multiples of a card in your deck, delete all but one of the multiples and one by one add those cards to the sidedeck.  Highlight the card and select up until the card is back into the deck, this way you wont have to take out all of the multiples of a card when sidedecking!  After you have finished your deck, save your deck if you wish then choose use this deck.

Step 3 - Familiarizing Yourself With YVD - Take this time to first go onto File > Settings and edit them to however you wish them to be.  Look around in the gameplay menu to familizarize yourself with the options there because most likely you will be using that menu often.  Sometimes, just exploring a program is the best way to learn it.

Step 4 - Dueling - When you find someone who you wish to duel, Click either listen or connect, depending on if you plan to connect to the opponent or if you want them to connect to you. I will give a brief explanation on this.

Step 4.1 - Listening -When you click this a menu comes up showing you your ip address and giving you the option of listening or to stop listening. If you wish for the opponent to connect to you and if you dont have a firewall or have it disabled, click listen and give the opponent your I.P address that's listed in the box.

Step 4.2 - Connecting -This option is for when you wish to connect to the opponent to duel. The opponent will give you his or her I.P address and you simply input that address into the textbox and click connect. IF both of you have a firewall and cant connect normally, then you will need someone to relay for you. That person will open a program in the yvd folder called yvd relay server.exe and will give their I.P to both you and your opponent, at which time you click connect and choose either to be the host or client in the dropdown box, and have your opponent do the same thing only that they choose whatever one you didnt choose. (i.e if you choose client, the opponent must choose host) Once that is done the duel may begin.

Step 5 - Common Shortcuts - There are some shortcut keys that you can use to do things faster, We will list some of them here.
